Hmmm, what’s up with 7.6 earthquakes recently…
About 2 hours ago, an earthquake hit the coast of Costa Rica. Originally, sources reported the earthquake as of 7.9 magnitude. USGS later revisited the magnitude of the earthquake and reduced it to 7.6. The quake was about 46 kilometers deep, but officials said it created chaos because it lasted for a long time:
Soon after the reports of the earthquake, tsunami warnings were in effect for both the Pacific and Caribbean. However, the tsunami warning for the Caribbean was lifted almost right away as it was said to be put in effect by accident. The warning issued for the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama stayed in effect for some more time, but was also lifted later.
